Ball Burnishing Compound-551

Ball Burnishing Compound-551

Ball burnishing liquid compound, mildly acidic, especially well suited for aluminum parts. When used with steel media, it contains inhibitors to prevent rust during short term shut downs. The pH is 4.5

Description: Mildly acidic burnishing liquid finishing compound for all metals. Low viscosity, green color, and a pleasant odor are its physical characteristics. Its pH is 4.5.

Application: RODECO 551 is designed vibratory finishing processes on all metals and is especially well suited for aluminum parts.

Features:

  • Maintains brightness of steel media.
  • Low foaming.
  • Biodegradable.
  • Good bleaching characteristics on all metals.
  • Will resist in-process corrosion to prevent premature media loss.

Recommended Dilution: One to two ounces per gallon of water with a flow rate of 1 to 1 1/2 gallons per hour per cubic foot of mass. In batch systems, 2 to 3 ounces per gallon are required. Concentrations will be higher for parts with soil or short process cycles.

Storage: RODECO 551 will start to separate at temperatures below 45°. If separated or frozen, thaw slowly and stir before using.

Inhibiting: Completely drained steel ball masses may be stored for short periods of time without inhibiting after use. DO NOT use inhibitors containing sodium nitrate with RODECO 551.

Disposal: RODECO 551 is biodegradable and contains no critical materials. To the best of our knowledge, it is safe to flush water solutions of RODECO 551 into sanitary sewer system after adjusting for pH requirement. Please consult your local or state EPA Department to determine the correct disposal method of used finishing fluids.
